Roy did a great job turning this previously neglected and abused project bike into a joy to ride. Excellent carb work!

Roy has a beautiful collection of vintage bikes and at least 4 stands to work on yours. He does quality workmanship and very reasonable prices. He did my 2002 katana tires replacement, cleaned the hubs, and balanced.

I took my Ducati to Roy’s for some simple work after I hadn’t ridden in almost two years. They did excellent work and pointed out things I wouldn’t have thought to check (such as draining the old fuel from the tank and replacing it). Without me asking (and without charge) they also washed it and filled the tires.

I would definitely recommend them.

Excellent work. However they're swamped in the summer and it can be almost impossible get an appointment. Sometimes it can take a month or more to get your bike back but the work is solid. I had a bike that had its entire front end redone (hit a 9-point buck at 50 mph) several years ago. Ran beautifully ever since.

The bottom line is, these guys really care, and they're never looking to upsell you. I was pleasantly surprised when they reached out a week after the work was done just to how everything is running. Like any good (in demand shop) temper turn time expectations during peak season.
That said, they're still quite fast so long as parts are available. Will 100% be going back!!!

Complete waste of 4 months time and $150.00. Since Roy has years of experience I assumed he would be able to repair the carbs on my 1983 KZ440. The bike was running and ride-able when I brought it to him in May 2016. It just had a 'stumble' to it and took forever to warm up. It was as if the bike went into a black-hole: Roy was never proactive in communication. I had to call and/or stop by many times before I could get any answers from him. He initially charged $150.00 for a 'complete evaluation with recommendations' which was littered with useless information such as 'carbs need work' and 'strange noise from the rear'. Nothing specific and no detailed repair estimate was given. I stuck with him thinking that he was difficult to work with but would know his stuff. By July nothing had been done other than the carbs were removed from the bike. By August the carbs had been cleaned and 'tuned up' and back on the bike but it was a very small improvement: still having issues. I was brushed off, ignored and to a some degree berated too many times at that point. He then told me "we can fix it for $600" but still wouldn't tell me exactly what was wrong. When I questioned him on it and said I wasn't going to pay that we came to an agreement that he would put the bike back together and charge only the $150 initial fee. I bought this bike in May for my son who's in college out of state and he and I were going to ride around Minneapolis together during the summer. That plan was nearly squashed by Roy but I bought a second bike for my son in June to ride while the KZ440 was stuck in "Roy's Tar Pit".
End of story: I sold the KZ440 to a 20 yo college student friend of my son who was able to take the carbs apart himself and make the repair, which was only an issue with the choke. A kid with no motorcycle repair experience was able to do what Roy couldn't.
Don't waste your time with this shop. And Roy really should seriously consider retiring and stop with the non-existent customer service.
I have the feeling he gets a kick out of messing with people. Or just doesn't care. I would give a zero stars for the rating but the "Post" bottom for this isn't enabled unless at least 1 star is selected. This shop deserves negative stars.

Lewis is the bike MASTER. Literally the Mr. Miyagi of bikes. You can literally drop off your bike, say nothing about what you want done and he will know what to do to not only fix but improve your bike. During the busy season, yes if you drop off your bike expecting immediate results keep in mind its a busy season and depending on the help you have it can take a bit which, if you wait till last minute to get serviced in the spring to go riding you should expect that. Bike work isn't like going through the McDonalds drive through, Lewis has a gift for attention to detail that you wont find at other shops, you just wont...He can not only fix but make your bike ride better for you which is also something other shops don't provide. Respect the bike, respect the mechanic..FYI for noobies.. A great way to have your bike serviced is in the winter so you are ready for the spring rather than waiting last minute. I have stopped by in an emergency and he is very helpful and kind. The shop is full of history, Lewis has great stories and has accomplished great things.. Ask him about Laguna Seca..or the best places to ride.. or World Championship Races he has attended and participated in...
