Frankly, I was pretty devastated to come in and hear Buddy had retired. Had Truman not been incredibly forthright, kind, and friendly, I would’ve left once he gave me the update on Buddy and the new prices.

I truly hope that new ownership carries on Buddy’s business legacy of honesty and integrity. This business acquisition came with a ton of raving fans and it would be foolish to lose everyone and become like every other possibly-sketchy mechanic shop.

I stayed today because of Truman. I hope ownership keeps him and reconsiders the other changes.

I used to come here regularly when Mr. Buddy owned and operated the shop. After his retirement and the change in ownership, I decided to give the new management a try since I was familiar with the place. While they were helpful in replacing my blinkers and tail lights, I was shocked when the new owner quoted me at least $1,000 for a valve gasket cover replacement—double the $500 Mr. Buddy had previously quoted.

Mr. Buddy always warned me about people who take advantage of customers, and this experience confirmed his caution. The new owner also claimed that the engine reaches over 1,000 degrees, which is an exaggeration and simply not true. If you're trying to educate customers, misleading them only serves to make them feel foolish.

After calling around, I found other quotes in line with what Mr. Buddy had originally given me. Because of this, I won’t be returning. I wish them the best of luck operating until the building sells, but they’ve lost my business.

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and do not take your car here. The ownership has recently changed and the new owners will MASSIVELY overcharge you for a simple oil change. When Buddy was still the owner, I paid $48 to get my oil changed. A bit about my car - it's a 2009 Toyota Corolla, so trust me - nothing fancy at all! I was charged $101 for an oil change. Yes, you read that correctly - $101. I had an important trip that I had to leave for and I assumed that the price would be comparable to the last time I was at Lubrication Corner so that's where I took my car before getting on the road. There was no line (I now see why) and I could get in right away so I was happy. Until I found out the what I would be charged. Had I not been leaving to go out of town, I would have left and found somewhere else to get my oil changed but I didn't have the time. In addition, I looked back at the receipt from my last oil change under the previous ownership, and they were far and away more detailed in looking over my car and assessing it during the wellness check than these new owners were. Now, you will pay an arm and a leg for an oil change and that's about it! They said they provided a "wellness check" - in comparing the receipt from this time to the one from last time, it was not nearly as extensive of a check up as it had been when Buddy was the owner. From my experience I CAN PROMISE YOU THIS - the new ownership does not care about your car AT ALL!!!!! Speaking from firsthand experience, they just want your money!!!!!! Go elsewhere! There are some really nice and reputable places around Franklin - this is no longer one of them. Yikes. I'll be spreading the word around as well to my friends and family to stay far away.

Tiffany, with all due respect, you can say all you want about inflation and rising prices but at the end of the day, Buddy had vastly different values and it was clear that he didn’t feel the need to charge his customers an arm and a leg to care for their vehicles properly, especially vehicles that were made over 10 years ago. That alone speaks volumes about his character and what kind of a person he was. He seemed to value his clients for a lot more than what they paid him. That is not at all the feeling that I got when I visited the shop a few days ago. In your response here, you referenced that you could “clarify any concerns and ensure that I felt confident in the services provided.” I’m wondering how exactly you plan to do this as per my recent visit, the only feeling I left with was the notion that I had just been scammed. My previous oil change at Lubrication Corner was less than two years ago. It wasn’t 5 or 8 or 10 years ago - times when it could be argued that prices and inflation were vastly different than they are these days. Your argument is out of touch, invalid, and seems to more so reflect the different values that are now present at Lubrication Corner due to the change in ownership. I think that I speak for most of the people who were Buddy’s regular customers when I say that - what we truly valued was the fairness, integrity, and moral standards found there. If these are things that are no longer present within the new staff and ownership now, that’s a real shame. I am happy to speak with you, but I would like to be offered a refund that reflects fair pricing for a simple oil change on a car that is 16 years old. If you’re unable or unwilling to make this situation right, then there is no point in speaking. Feel free to look up my number and give me a call, but I’m going to leave the ball in your court as this should never have happened in the first place.

I can’t recommend Buddy and his shop more! Buddy is kind, very helpful, knowledgeable, and will go out of his way to help you when needed. He has done this for me many times as I have called him and brought my car(s) into his shop. When I moved here, I was in search of a good mechanic and was grateful to be connected with Buddy and his team. They do great and honest work at a reasonable price and communicate openly with you about the status and details of your repairs/ needed work. I would recommend Buddy and his team at lubrication corner to anyone! I will definitely return again!

so while changing the oil on my gator I was unable to get the filter off. so I drove it to Lubfication Corner On church and Columbia and they where able to do so in just a few minutes !!! HOLD ON ,,,,,THEY DIDNT CHARGE ME ANYTHING !!!!!!Truly old school Franklin company please support them!
